We are looking for Spirited, Enterprising, Motivated and Compassionate individuals to join our experienced and professional team, inspiring young people to unlock their potential through discovery and adventure in the wild.

Do you love the outdoors and want to share your adventures with young people? With a proud history and tradition in personal development courses, Outward Bound uses the outdoor environment to make a real difference to young people's lives and help them on their journey to find the best within themselves.

We are seeking Instructors for our 4 residential centres, all in fantastic locations: Loch Eil in Scotland, Ullswater and Howtown in the Lake District and Aberdovey on the Welsh coast.

We offer:

• Course activities: mountain expeditions, wild camping, canoeing, kayaking, river journeys, climbing, abseiling, horizontal and vertical caving, gorge walking, raft building, rowing, orienteering, problem solving, mountain biking, sailing, bivvying, fun and adventure!

Starting salary is dependent on qualifications & experience.

Requirements
Candidates should have passed as a minimum, an assessment in one of the first three NGB qualifications listed below and completed training in at least two others from the list.

• Summer Mountain Leader Award
• Single Pitch Award
• British Canoe Union Level 2 Coach Award (kayak, canoe or both)
• RYA Dinghy Instructor

In addition, the following are mandatory requirements:

• clean driving licence (preferably including D1 entitlement)
• valid First Aid Certificate

You must be able to demonstrate the responsibility necessary to safely lead groups of young people on our courses.

Closing date for applications: Friday 5 September 2008. Interviews for all positions at all centres will be held on 12, 16, 17 September 2008 and 11 November 2008.

These positions are subject to an enhanced Disclosure Check through the Criminal Records Bureau.
